It hasn’t always been easy to find.

Some years ago we recognised that the enormous wealth creation and economic growth of Asia was likely to change the way the world viewed this region.

For international investors looking to make sense of it all, one trouble was that their relationships were often with large, western-focused companies. Many of the specialists of an earlier era had either merged or disappeared, making the choice of selecting a knowledgeable Asian manager that much harder.

This is something we set out to change.

From a strong base in Japan and with award-winning investment teams, we have worked hard at marrying the characteristics that you would expect of a Japanese company- the legendary attention to detail, long-term perspective and a commitment to client service - with new goals to incorporate international best practises and expand our capabilities into the rest of Asia.

We believe we have succeeded in creating a powerful hybrid company; one that balances the benefits of local knowledge and understanding of the often highly nuanced local economies and societies of Asia, with internationally recognised standards of investing, transparency and corporate governance.
